Main engine cylinder inspection.

Nigel Brown from I Spy Ltd inspected the FV Recovery main engine prior to the vessel sale.
After checking the first 5 cylinders and nothing abnormal found, the sixth cylinder there was a mark seen in Inlet valve head. After further checking it was decided this could only be cracked.
His Camera probe was removed from Injector hole and inserted into inlet manifold end cover and more pictures taken of valve head. Crack could be clearly seen.
I was truly amazed at the clarity of the pictures and video taken.
We decided this had saved the vessel in excess of $100,000 with parts labour and tow home.
The inspection was a very small price to pay compared to the inevitable failure.
A check of the Reduction box gears was also done to check condition and proved to be in good condition.
